cooking class culinary company blu aubergine rome food tour dana klitzberg italy italian cuisine cooking class and food tour in rome, italy by blu aubergine.Rome is in the heart of a country known worldwide for its delicious food. Still, 'Italian Food' is a misleading term, as the country's cuisine is extremely diverse. Each of its 20 regions boasts its own unique flavors. As such, we offer cooking classes to provide insight into the Italian kitchen. From traditional Roman fare to the wonders of the tables of Tuscany, the Veneto, Sicily, and beyond…we explore the history behind the food, the techniques of its preparation, and the joys of sharing it at the table (with Italian wines, of course). Prices for instruction depend upon the duration and subject matter of the course. Single classes are €100 to €150; 4-session courses range from €375 to €550, inclusive of meals prepared and consumed during each class. Our culinary walking tour features "The Best of Rome," as we stroll around the historic city center tasting the best of the city's culinary offerings, from the best espresso to the best gelato. Along the way, we take a look at the Jewish ghetto and taste treats from its famous bakery. We tour the Campo de' Fiori market and sample seasonal and local specialties, and visiting one of the best-known bread bakeries in Rome. We have lunch in a typical Roman trattoria, enjoy a wine tasting, and shop in one of Italy's finest alimentari which features regional Italian salumi, cheeses, and other artisenal products. We finish off with a bit of "dolce Roma" -- a sweet ending to our day, with a sampling of delicious gelato, hot chocolate, or handmade chocolates (depending upon the season).
